PENTAGRAMA develops and manages large scale agroforestry systems (AFSs) projects with high added value products and growing market demand. We offer projects with technical/financial feasibility, professional governance and reduced risks to investors, producers and distributors.

We have a portfolio of projects resulting from the accumulation of experiences already developed in several biomes and crops, with detailed financial modeling that demonstrates attractive investment return.

Our AFS model includes the use of developed and validated technologies, with the integration of mechanization, precision farming practices and digital technologies.

One of the great business opportunities that this model makes possible is the restoration of degraded areas of low commercial value with the regeneration of its productive capacity and consequent appreciation.

SUCCESS CASE - Fazenda Amigos do Cerrado

Fazenda Amigos do Cerrado is the largest organic lemon producer in Brasilia and supplies to large supermarkets in the region, and from 2020 onwards to one of the largest restaurant chains in Brazil.

In five years we carried out the implantation and validation of a prototype for large scale AFS in the Cerrado Biome, its conversion to organic AFS, creation of a brand with SEBRAE support, certification and award in the Sustainable Initiatives Competition of Brasília Environmental office. This was made possible through the adaptation and transfer of technologies developed in previous experiences (Natura and Fazenda da Toca).

It is a system of production and use of the soil that cultivates in space and time with the optimization of resources and areas:

There are several possible arrangements:

  • Biodegradable agroforestry systems that approach the dynamics of a natural forest, reproducing processes such as natural succession, stratification and recycling of nutrients.
  • Agroforestry systems with a focus on production and financial profitability, with a smaller number of species that allows for a large scale, but which also use the forestry principles and processes that generate positive environmental and social impacts.

  • Generate diversity of products at the same time or sequentially in the same production area;
  • Function as biological corridors of flora and fauna;
  • Store and capture large amounts of carbon representing an option to mitigate climate change;
  • Create a microclimate more suitable for crops, animal welfare and the human beings who manage it;
  • Protect soils from erosion and minimize the impacts of extreme weather events;
  • Ensure the recycling of nutrients from trees with agricultural crops with the improvement of soil fertility, especially with the use of legumes and plants with the function of fertilizers;
  • Generate greater balance between living organisms that allows better control of pests and diseases;
  • Contribute to less dependence on external inputs from the production unit;
  • Regulate hydrological cycles;
  • Contribute to the recovery of degraded and contaminated areas;
  • Encourage adaptations and mitigations in the context of climate change, situations of vulnerability of the productive unit and the territory according to the diversity and design of the AFS.
